About Us
The Western Branch Soccer Club (WBSC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and enhancing the culture of soccer in Chesapeake, Virginia.
Founded in 1995, WBSC is built on a shared passion for the game by uniting players, parents, coaches, and volunteers in a community that values development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
Our mission is to provide opportunities for players of all levels (Recreation, Advanced, and Select) to grow both on and off the field. We strive to develop every athlete’s skills, confidence, fitness, initiative, and love for the game, while fostering a strong sense of teamwork and respect for others.
We are committed to:
- Developing players through age-appropriate training that encourages creativity, discipline, and growth.
- Building coaches through quality education and mentorship programs to help them reach their highest potential.
- Promoting sportsmanship and fair play at every level of competition.
- Supporting team independence, allowing each team to grow and manage itself while maintaining alignment with WBSC’s values.
WBSC offers a cost-effective alternative to traditional travel soccer, without mandatory club fundraisers. Our home fields are located at Jolliff Middle School, where we proudly host both recreational and competitive matches.
WBSC is a member of both TASL (Tidewater Advanced Soccer League) and NPL (National Premier League), providing opportunities for teams to compete at the level that best fits their goals and abilities.
