Volunteer Positions Needed

Western Branch Soccer Club is run by volunteers.  We need people like you.

President

·   exercise overall supervisory control over the Club and its operations;

·   represent WBSC in all endeavors regarding soccer;

·   prepare an agenda for and preside at all meetings;

·   appoint members of the Executive Committee, as needed;

·   present a budget for both recreational and advanced/select soccer to the Executive Committee for approval at the start of each season;

·   ensure that an audit of the WBSC finances be conducted annually prior to the start of the new fiscal year;

·   ensure all measures voted by the Executive Committee be promptly and properly executed;

·   perform any and all other duties as prescribed by these bylaws or assigned by this club.  

 

Vice President

·   in the absence of the President, for any reason, perform the duties of the President and have all powers and restrictions of that office;

·   perform other duties as assigned.

 

Secretary

·   be responsible for all communications, both internal and external,

·   keep the official records of WBSC including minutes of all meetings, treasurer’s reports in his/her files;

·   be responsible for setting up meeting place for monthly meeting;

·   maintain a membership list;

·   perform other duties as assigned.

Treasurer

·  have custody of all the funds of the association;

·  keep a full and accurate account of receipts and expenditures;

·  make disbursements as authorized by the President, Executive Board, or Executive Committee in accordance with the approved budget;

·  have checks or vouchers signed by two officers, preferably the treasurer and the president;

·  work with accountant to prepare a written financial statement at every meeting of the WBSC and at other times when requested by the Executive Board;

·  work with accountant to prepare an annual financial report at the close of the fiscal year;

·  file all financial forms per IRS regulations;

·  file all financial forms per SAY regulations;

·  perform other duties as assigned.

Director of Recreation

·   in the absence of the Director of Recreation, for any reason, the President shall perform the duties of the Director of Recreation and have all powers and restrictions of that office;

·   oversee recreation volunteers to ensure duties are getting done in a timely fashion;

·   send list of participants (team rosters) to Vice President so SAY insurance can be paid;

·   take phone calls to answer questions about the recreation program;

·   manage recreation registrations;
·   reports to Presiden

·   perform any other duties as assigned.

Recreation Registrar

·   assist patrons with registration process (recreation);

·   assign players and coaches to teams;

·   create game schedules;

·   create uniform order;
·   reports to Director of Recreation;

·   perform any other duties as assigned.

Recreation Volunteer Coordinator

·   find volunteer recreation coaches;
·   reports to Director of Recreation;

·   perform any other duties as assigned.

Recreation Picture Coordinator

·   work with recreation head coaches and photographer to create picture schedule;
·   reports to Director of Recreation;

·   perform any other duties as assigned.

Recreation Interleague Coordinator

·   works with Director of Recreation and other interleague clubs to declare teams and fields and create schedules;
·   reports to Director of Recreation;

·   perform any other duties as assigned.

Director of Advance/Select

·  in the absence of the Director of Advance/Select, for any reason, the Vice President shall perform the duties of the Director of Advance/Select and have all powers and restrictions of that office;

·  oversee Advance/Select volunteers to ensure duties are getting done in a timely fashion;

·  send list of participants (team rosters) to Vice President so SAY insurance can be paid;
·  create TASL rosters for advance teams;

·  club representative to VSL;

·  register select teams & declare fields with VSL;

·  register advanced teams & declare fields with TASL;

·  reports to Vice President;

·  perform any other duties as assigned.

Advance/Select Registrar

·  assist patrons with registration process (advance/select);

·  take phone calls to answer general questions about the advance and/or select programs and refer them to an appropriate coach;

·  manage advance/select registrations;
·  verify birth dates and fill out player passes;

·  reports to Director of Advance/Select;

·  perform any other duties as assigned.


Field Coordinator (Advance/Select)

·   work with head coaches from Advance/Select and Recreation Practice Coordinator to create a practice schedule;

·   reports to Director of Advance/Select

·   perform any other duties as assigned.

Advance/Select Head Coach

·   lead two to three practices per week and games on Saturdays and/or Sundays for seven to eight weeks;
·   reports to Director of Advance/Select and/or Director of Coaching;

·   perform any other duties as assigned.

Director of Coaches

·   coordinate the training and continuous education of coaches;

·   ensure all coaches have required licenses;

·   in the event that the office of Director of Coaches is vacant, the Director of Recreation and the Director of Advance/Select can fulfill these duties as applies.

Webmaster

·   be responsible for establishing guidelines for documents to be published on the website;

·   be responsible for maintaining the website for WBSC, including all updates;
·   reports to President/Vice President/Director of Recreation/Director of Advance/Select;

·   perform other duties as assigned.

Social Media Coordinator

·   use Facebook and Twitter to promote club;

·   use Facebook and Twitter to keep current patrons informed of things going on at the club;
·   reports to President/Vice President/Director of Recreation/Director of Advance/Select;

·   perform other duties as assigned.

Summer Camp Coordinator

·   point of contact with Challenger British Soccer Camp;

·   promote camp - can recruit other volunteers to help with this;

·   meet with camp coaches the day before the camp begins to get them with their host families;

·   be present during the week in case anything is needed - again can recruit other volunteers to help with this;
·   distribute t-shirts and balls;

·   reports to President/Vice President/Director of Recreation/Director of Advance/Select;

·   perform other duties as assigned.

Advertising Director
·   promote the club and team tryouts through newspaper, social media and website;

·   reports to President/Vice President/Director of Recreation/Director of Advance/Select;

·   perform other duties as assigned.

Advertising Assistant 

·   distribute club flyers prior to the start of registration;

·   reports to President/Vice President/Director of Recreation/Director of Advance/Select;

·   perform other duties as assigned.

Advertising Assistant - yard signs
·   put out yard signs prior to the start of registration and pick up after season begins;

·   reports to President/Vice President/Director of Recreation/Director of Advance/Select;

·   perform other duties as assigned.
